Lakota West Counseling Reminders

As the 2023-2024 school year comes to a close, the LWHS Counseling Department wanted to provide a few reminders and some helpful information for our families as we look to summer and the 2024-2025 school year.

SCHEDULE INFORMATION

• Please review the 24-25 Schedule Change request policy. Student requests to change their courses for next year were due by 5/1/2024. The only changes that will be considered will need to follow the criteria listed in the district policy linked above. 

• Schedules will be ready for the 24-25 School Year in Early August for you to view via HAC 

MENTAL HEALTH

• Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center offers therapy services throughout the school year located at LWHS.  If you have concerns regarding your child’s mental health over the summer, (transitioning to main campus, lack of motivation, worry, failing or missing school last year), please reach out to Assistant Principal Cathy Bella (catherine.bella@lakotaonline.com) or CCHMC Lead Therapist Ellen Diersing (Ellen.Diersing@lakotaonline.com).

SUMMER SCHOOL

• Students in need of summer school for Credit Recovery can sign up on Lakota’s district website (LINK HERE). Registration for courses is open from 5/6/24 to 6/14/24. There is no cost to recover credits over the summer via summer school

OFFICE HOURS

• The School Counseling Office will be closed from Saturday June 15th to Wednesday July 10th.

CLASS OF 2024

• Final Transcripts will be ready mid-June. At that time, we will be sending them to the university you identified on your Senior Year End Activity. If you need a transcript sent to a different college/university, you must contact the Counseling Office and speak to either Hannah Wojcik (Hannah.Wojcik@lakotaonline.com) or Xananda Barkhuizen(Xananda.Barkhuizen@lakotaonline.com)
