New Lakota West High School Traffic Pattern to Start Jan. 7, 2025

In an effort to improve safety during arrival and dismissal for our students, new traffic patterns will begin when we return from winter break on Jan. 7, 2025. The new traffic patterns have been created in collaboration with our partners at the West Chester Police Department and Butler County Engineer’s office after an in-depth study of our parking lots during arrival and dismissal.

We encourage all of our families to carefully review the map of our parking lot before returning from winter break. Lakota West staff and officers from the West Chester Police Department will be on hand to help direct traffic during this transition.

Entrance/Exit 1: Union Centre Blvd. (Football Stadium & Parking Lot B)

This will be a right-turn only exit from Union Centre Blvd. Traffic may turn right OR left when entering the lot. Use this entrance to access lot B (the “senior lot”) in front of the school, adjacent to the tennis courts.

• After entering the parking lot, traffic must turn right at the back of the lot, proceeding to the pedestrian sidewalk and front of the school. 
• Traffic must turn left when exiting the lot at the baseball field, returning to Union Centre Blvd.
• The exit onto Union Centre Blvd. will be a right turn only.

Entrance/Exit 2: Lakota West Blvd. (Parking Lot C and Cafeteria Entrance)

This will be a right-turn only entrance and exit. 

• When entering the parking lot from Lakota West Blvd., student drivers will access lot C.
• All other drivers will proceed straight, dropping students off at the back of the school.
• Drivers must proceed straight and exit the lot onto West Chester Road at entrance/exit 3, unless parking in lot C.
• During dismissal, students parking in lot C may carefully proceed to either exit 2 or 3. These are the only exits accessible from lot C.
• Staff may use this entrance to access lot D, staff parking.

Entrance/Exit 3: West Chester Road (Staff Parking Lot and Cafeteria Entrance)

This will be a right-turn only entrance from West Chester Road. Traffic may turn right OR left when exiting. Drivers will not be permitted to enter the parking lot by turning left from West Chester Road.

• Staff may use entrance/exit 3 to access lot D, staff parking.
• When non-staff enter the lot, drivers will proceed straight, dropping students off at the back of the school.
• Student drivers should not use this entrance if parking in lot C.
• Drivers must proceed straight and exit the lot by a right turn onto Lakota West Blvd., entrance/exit 2.

Entrance/Exit 4: West Chester Road (Parking Lot A, Across from MidPointe Library)

Drivers may enter Lot A using a right or left turn from West Chester Road. It will be a right turn only exit onto West Chester Road.

• Staff should not utilize this entrance to access Lot D.
• After entering the parking lot, traffic must turn left to enter lot A.
• Drivers will then turn right at the front of the lot, proceeding to the pedestrian sidewalk and around the lot, returning to entrance/exit 4. 
• The exit onto West Chester Road will be a right turn only.

All members of the Lakota West community are encouraged to review the detailed map to familiarize themselves with the new traffic patterns prior to January.
