We at Lakota West partner with our families to provide a strong home-to-school connection. Below are ways we stay connected to our school community and information about the various communications that families will receive throughout the year.
Lakota West High School puts out a weekly newsletter (“Firebird News”) through School Messenger on Fridays. This newsletter shares important information about activities coming up, things that are going on at Lakota West, information from the Guidance Department, and information from the PTSO.
See below for information about our communications portal and how to manage your account.
Our Morning Announcements, from both Main Campus and theWest Freshman Campus, are posted to our News & Announcement webpage on a daily basis.
Feel free to follow our social media sites! Here we will post photos of what's currently going on in school, updates and important dates. Also check out the hashtags #AAGF and #WEareLakota.

District Communications Portal
At Lakota, transparent and timely communication is critically important. Using a mass notification system, we deliver important school and district news and announcements primarily via email, but oftentimes by phone and text message as well.
Please reference the detailed sections below to ensure you are receiving school-to-home Lakota communications that are relevant to you as a parent/guardian, staff member or community member.
All parent/guardian contact information submitted through FinalForms at the beginning of each school year and then displayed in your Home Access Center account is our primary source of email addresses and phone numbers used to communicate school and district news. Please note below the alternative method being used to update staff phone numbers.
The parent portal powered by School Messenger is no longer used to update parent/guardian contact information.
